We recently completed two IYT Bareboat Skipper courses for Via Maris Sailing Academy, held for two weeks in the stunning Saronic Bay, Greece.

Each course combined professional instruction with real sailing experience, from hands-on training on sailing, maneuvering and navigation to night passages and sunrise departures across the islands of Aegina, Agistri, Poros, Hydra and the beautiful Porto Heli.

Between classes and practical training, we made time to enjoy the true spirit of sailing life, catching fresh fish, anchoring in quiet bays, and gathering wood for a bonfire dinner by the sea to celebrate a successful day on the water.

By the end of both programs, students completed their IYT assessments and earned their Bareboat Skipper certifications, ICC and IYT VHF short range certificate leaving not only with confidence and skill, but with unforgettable memories of their time at sea.
